This lovely gothic revival fragment from the 1880's features colored and stained glass with hand painted details in a traditional gothic almond-form composition.  Measuring 19 5/8" x 14 1/8", the central almond is stained red over gray with hand-painted depiction of two women (one appears to be a nun) holding loaves of bread.  The soft colors and wide leading mark this as the product of a particularly sophisticated studio working in the gothic revival mode.  You will note 3 or 4 pieces with tight, stable cracks: one is a spider (as pictured) the others are single.  It is stable and displays beautifully with ntural back-lighting.
